June 24: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (3 imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province; 9 indigenous cases, 7 in Beijing municipality and 2 in Hebei province), 4 new cases of suspected infections (all are indigenous cases in Beijing), and no deaths. 3 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 584 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 23, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,888 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,801 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 87 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 23, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,430 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,428 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 368 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 18 suspected cases. 759,279 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,557 were still under medical observation.
On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 3 new asymptomatic cases (including 1 imported case). 1 (imported case) was freed from medical observation and 1 (indigenous case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on June 23, 100 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 59 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 23, 1,668 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,177 in Hong Kong (6 had died and 1,083 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 446 in Taiwan (7 had died and 435 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
