The Hutou Tourism Scenic Area is located in the east of Heilongjiang province in Northwest China. It is mainly composed of natural wetlands, the Ussuri River -- a boundary river between China and Russia -- and historic cultural and impressive war relics memorializing the citizens and martyrs who died in World War II.
The scenic area is across the river from the Russian city of Dalnerechensk. The bronze tiger statue erected by the shore of the Ussuri River is said to be the largest of its type in the world. A "patriotic education base" recreates the historical scene and exposes the war crimes of the invading Japanese through on-site relics and an exhibition of historical objects.
The Guandi Temple (enshrining Guan Yu, the Chinese lord of war) and the beautiful Ussuri River are also draws for tourists.
