Four people became the first from Taiwan to be given vocational certifications on the Chinese mainland on Saturday.

The four in Fuzhou, Fujian province, were part of a cross-Straits talent exchange program.

Fujian last year began recognizing vocational certifications that were earned in Taiwan. Recently, it took the lead in setting up an online platform for candidates from Taiwan who want to attend vocational training sessions or apply for certificates.

According to Fujian's Department of Human Resources and Social Security, services will be expanded to make it more convenient for people from Taiwan to work on the Chinese mainland.
