April 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 27, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 6 new cases of confirmed infections (3 indigenous cases in Heilongjiang province and 3 imported cases), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 81 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 915 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on April 27, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,639 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,087 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 552 confirmed cases (including 21 in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 82,836 confirmed cases and 4,633 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,555 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 648 confirmed cases (including 50 in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases. So far, 731,015 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,014 are now under medical observation.
On April 27, Hubei province reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. No patients were released from hospital.
As of 24:00 on April 27, Hubei had reported 68,128 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,333 in Wuhan) and 4,512 deaths (including 3,869 in Wuhan). In all, 63,616 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 46,464 in Wuhan. There were no confirmed cases and no suspected cases.
On April 27, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 40 new asymptomatic cases (including 3 imported cases). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 4 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 27, 997 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 130 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 27, 1,511 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,037 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 787 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (32 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 429 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 290 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
