April 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 14, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 46 new cases of confirmed infections (36 imported cases and 10 indigenous cases, 8 in Heilongjiang province and 2 in Guangdong province), 11 new cases of suspected infections (5 imported cases in Heilongjiang, 4 imported cases in Shanghai municipality, 1 imported case in Liaoning province and 1 indigenous case in Liaoning), and 1 death (in Hubei province). 78 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,058 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 3.
As of 24:00 on April 14, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,500 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 596 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 904 confirmed cases (including 45 in serious condition) and 72 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 14, the National Health Commission had received 82,295 reports of confirmed cases and 3,342 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,816 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,137 confirmed cases (including 113 in serious condition) and 73 suspected cases. So far, 721,295 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,309 are now under medical observation.
On April 14, Hubei reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and 1 death (no deaths in Wuhan). 39 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.
As of 24:00 on April 14, Hubei had reported 67,803 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,008 in Wuhan) and 3,222 deaths (2,579 in Wuhan). In all, 64,402 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 47,250 in Wuhan. There still remained 179 confirmed cases (all in Wuhan), with 57 in serious condition (all in Wuhan). There were no suspected cases.
On April 14, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 57 new asymptomatic cases (including 3 imported cases). 32 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 7 became confirmed cases (5 are imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 14, 1,023 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 228 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 14, 1,450 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,012 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 434 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (15 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 393 in Taiwan (6 had been dead and 124 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
