April 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 19 new cases of confirmed infections (18 imported cases and 1 indigenous case in Hubei province), 11 new cases of suspected infections (all are imported cases), and 4 deaths (all in Hubei). 180 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,346 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 48.
As of 24:00 on April 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 888 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 190 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 698 confirmed cases (including 17 in serious condition) and 114 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 3, the National Health Commission had received 81,639 reports of confirmed cases and 3,326 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 76,751 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,562 confirmed cases (including 331 in serious condition) and 114 suspected cases. So far, 712,088 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 18,286 are now under medical observation.
On April 3, Hubei reported 1 new case of confirmed infections (in Wuhan), no new cases of suspected infections, and 4 deaths (all in Wuhan). 150 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.
As of 24:00 on April 3, Hubei had reported 67,803 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,008 in Wuhan) and 3,207 deaths (including 2,567 in Wuhan). In all, 63,762 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 46,611 in Wuhan. There still remained 834 confirmed cases (including 830 in Wuhan), with 303 in serious condition (including 300 in Wuhan). There were no suspected cases.
On April 3, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 64 new asymptomatic cases (including 26 imported cases). 58 asymptomatic cases were freed from quarantine (including 6 imported cases) and 3 became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 3, 1,030 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 239 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 3, 1,236 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 845 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 173 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 43 in Macao (10 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 348 in Taiwan (5 had been dead and 50 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
