Recently, a number of countries have been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. We have deep empathy towards people in those countries and our thoughts are with them. This once again shows that the virus is the common enemy of humankind. It is our shared goal to win the battle against the disease. Let's stand united and take appropriate and necessary measures to protect the safety and health of everyone.

Viruses have no borders. The health of inbound travelers entering Qingdao and their families is our prime concern. Since Qingdao activated its level 1 public health emergency response to the COVI-19 outbreak, the city has taken active measures to provide helpful services and support. Inbound travelers at a port of entry in Qingdao are subject to quarantine or medical observation if they fall into one or more of the following categories: first, persons who have recently travelled to or lived in areas with the COVID-19 epidemic and have fever or respiratory symptoms; second, persons who have had contact with people infected by the novel coronavirus; third, persons who have been aboard the same conveyance with someone experiencing fever; fourth, persons who are found to have fever or respiratory symptoms when getting tested at checkpoints.

In light of the epidemic situations overseas, starting Feb 24, all inbound travelers entering Qingdao, except for those who shall be put under quarantine and medical observation, will be picked up upon arrival by designated vehicles sent by the district or county-level city where their residence is located and will quarantine themselves at home for 14 consecutive days from their arrival in Qingdao and monitor their health conditions on a daily basis. Inbound travelers entering Qingdao for short-term stays such as business travel will be sent to designated hotels.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support for the epidemic control efforts in Qingdao. For inquiries about epidemic control, please contact the District/County-level City Hotlines listed below or call 12345 (English, Korean, Japanese and Thai services available). You may also call the multilingual hotlines of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Qingdao Municipal Government as listed at the end of this article.

We wish you and your family good health and happiness.
