Feb 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 27, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 327 new cases of confirmed infections, 452 new cases of suspected infections, and 44 deaths (41 in Hubei province, 2 in Beijing municipality, and 1 in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps). 3,622 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 10,525 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 394.
As of 24:00 on Feb 27, the National Health Commission had received 78,824 reports of confirmed cases and 2,788 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 36,117 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 39,919 confirmed cases (including 7,952 in serious condition) and 2,308 suspected cases. So far, 656,054 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 65,225 are now under medical observation.
On Feb 27, Hubei reported 318 new cases of confirmed infections (including 313 in Wuhan), 332 new cases of suspected infections (including 295 in Wuhan), and 41 deaths (including 28 in Wuhan). 3,203 patients were released from hospital after being cured, including 2,498 in Wuhan.
As of 24:00 on Feb 27, Hubei had reported 65,914 cases of confirmed infections (including 48,137 in Wuhan) and 2,682 deaths (including 2,132 in Wuhan). In all, 26,403 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 15,826 in Wuhan.There still remained 36,829 confirmed cases (including 30,179 in Wuhan), with 7,633 in serious condition (including 6,775 in Wuhan), and 1,989 suspected cases (including 1,488 in Wuhan).
As of 24:00 on Feb 27, 135 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 93 in Hong Kong (2 had been dead and 26 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 10 in Macao (8 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 32 in Taiwan (1 had been dead and 6 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
