Feb 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 26, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 433 new cases of confirmed infections, 508 new cases of suspected infections, and 29 deaths (26 in Hubei province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Heilongjiang province, and 1 in Henan province). 2,750 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 12,823 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 406.
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, the National Health Commission had received 78,497 reports of confirmed cases and 2,744 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 32,495 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 43,258 confirmed cases (including 8,346 in serious condition) and 2,358 suspected cases. So far, 652,174 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 71,572 are now under medical observation.
On Feb 26, Hubei reported 409 new cases of confirmed infections (including 383 in Wuhan), 403 new cases of suspected infections (including 341 in Wuhan), and 26 deaths (including 19 in Wuhan). 2,288 patients were released from hospital after being cured, including 1,535 in Wuhan.
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, Hubei had reported 65,596 cases of confirmed infections (including 47,824 in Wuhan) and 2,641 deaths (including 2,104 in Wuhan). In all, 23,200 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 13,328 in Wuhan.There still remained 39,755 confirmed cases (including 32,392 in Wuhan), with 7,984 in serious condition (including 7,049 in Wuhan), and 2,019 suspected cases (including 1,459 in Wuhan).
As of 24:00 on Feb 26, 133 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 91 in Hong Kong (2 had been dead and 24 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 10 in Macao (7 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 32 in Taiwan (1 had been dead and 5 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
