Jinan becomes popular destination for travel during festivals

Christmas and New Year's Day are just around the corner. A recent report on 2020 New Year's travel trends ranked Jinan second among the top 5 Christmas destinations and within the top 10 New Year's Eve destinations.

The report was jointly compiled by the tourism website Mafengwo and Tencent.

The results show that travellers prefer to celebrate New Year's Eve in southern Chinese cities, among which Sanya, Shanghai and Kunming are the three most popular, while, Jinan and Xi'an are the only two cities in northern China to make the top 10.

Jinan's effort to promote the integration of culture and tourism has helped to boost its popularity around the world. In the fourth quarter of this year, it launched a series of activities to promote winter tourism.

More than 10 activities were held to promote the city's brand, traditional culture and chic elements to the world, such as the 14th Miss Globalcity Pageant, the Jinan international fashion show welcoming global designers and a painting exhibition for esteemed Chinese artists.

Moreover, the city also launched a promotional event to highlight its winter tourism resources and released 10 major tourist routes for winter travelling.
