New undergraduates mark their first day at Peking University

More than 10 percent of students are from 29 ethnic minority groups and the university also enrolled 272 students from impoverished regions, it said.
All students from impoverished regions will have the opportunity to apply for different grants and scholarships, so that no student would drop out of school because of financial difficulties, the university said.
