The "Belt and Road" China-Italy Education Development Forum was held in Guizhou University in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province on March 31. Representatives from Italian universities were invited to explore cooperation on education between the two countries.

Sergio Ferrari, president of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Emidio D. De Albentiis, president of the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia, and Maria Cristina Curti, vice-president of the Conservatory Arrigo Boito of Parma discussed the possibility of joint cultivation of international talents in pre-eminent disciplines.

Zhou Baoying, president of Guizhou Education Association for International Exchange, said that the association will keep serving as a platform for international exchanges in Guizhou.

Guizhou University is willing to take the Belt and Road as an opportunity to explore new ways of educational cooperation with other universities, share the experience of talent training, and become a bridge of international exchange, said Jin Daochao, vice president of Guizhou University.

China and Italy signed a memorandum of understanding on jointly building the Belt and Road on March 23, making Italy the first G7 member country to sign official documents with China on the Belt and Road Initiative. The two countries also reached an agreement to deepen cooperation on education.
