Wanfo Lake, Lu’an
(万佛湖 wàn fó hú)
Wanfo Lake is seated in the eastern part of Dabieshan Mountain, between Yangtze River and Huaihe River in Lu’an, Anhui province.
In 2006, Wanfo Lake was rated as the national 4A scenic spot, and has been honored as China’s best eco-tourism resort and one of Anhui’s top 10 tourist attractions.
Bordering Chaohu Lake to the east and Hefei city to the north, Wanfo Lake is 50 km from the Hefei-Kowloon railway, the Hefei-Tongling-Huangshan expressway, the Shanghai-Chengdu expressway, and the Jinan-Guangzhou highway.
Also, it is only a two-hour drive from Nanjing, Wuhu and Jiuhua Mountains, and a three-hour drive from Huangshan, Wuhan and Nanchang. Driving from Shanghai, Hangzhou or Changsha will take five hours.
