Sequel of top animated franchise to be released

One of the most popular animated franchises in China, Big-head Son and Small-head Dad will see its third sequel hit local theaters on July 6.

The film, New Big-head Son and Small-head Dad 3: An Adventure in Russia, is about a journey by the “big-head son”, a mischievous yet smart boy.

The movie will also feature the father’s midlife crisis, and his attempt to balance parenting and career.

Prestigious children television show hosts Liu Chunyan, Dong Hao, Ju Ping as well as Chen Su are the voices for the major characters, said director He Cheng, at an event at the 8th Beijing International Film Festival.

Big-head Son and Small-head Dad, first aired as an animated TV series on the state broadcaster, China Central Television, in 1995.
