The conference for promoting Healthy China by new media platforms was held in Beijing on April 18. Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), attended the conference and delivered a speech.
At present, the NHC has a matrix of new media platforms, including the Chinese and English editions of the official website, Healthy China Weibo account, WeChat account, Healthy China App and a series of new media accounts for government affairs.
“We should fully understand people’s new demands for health; promote health development with help of the internet. The key task of Healthy China new media platform is to serve as the database of health information service and be a bridge that connects the health departments and citizens. We should fully implement the platforms’ construction, use and management,” Wang said.
He added that health departments at all levels should push forward the construction of Healthy China new media platforms with the idea of co-construction and sharing.
At the conference, Jiang Kang Bao Newspaper (Health News), overseen by the NHC, signed a strategic contract of co-constructing and sharing new media platforms with the Chinese Academy of Medical Science & Peking Union Medical College, the medical management service guidance center and the China Population Communication Center.
Officials from the NHC’s relevant departments attended the conference.
