The award ceremony for the 3rd Hanyi Font Star Competition was held in Beijing on April 14.
The competition, organized by the Chinese font producing company Hanyi Fonts, is a professional font design event.
The competition's evaluation process started on April 10, and brought together top font designers from both China and abroad for a four-day examination of the entries, which were submitted by more than 2,000 font design lovers nationwide over a period of two years.
The competition was divided into three categories - headline Chinese fonts, body text Chinese fonts and Western language fonts groups.
The competition has been held three times since 2012. And some of the previous winning designs have become popular commercially.

While college students made up most of the participants in the previous competitions, more professional designers were part of this year's event.
The winners and a group of outstanding font works from this year's event are likely to be added to the current font database, according to the event organizer.
The latest competition encouraged "innovation based on inheritance".
Speaking about the event, Zhang Xuan, a lead font designer from Hanyi, says: "By hosting this event we intend to guide the inheritance of traditional culture, such as that of Chinese characters, in a more visual way."
Meanwhile, besides announcing the awarding-winning works, Hanyi also launched the charitable "Hanyi Font Star Plan", which aims to make its own font database and other resources as a platform to provide all font design lovers in China technical support both during their creation stage and later while marketing their products.
