Xu Xiake was a Chinese travel writer and geographer during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), best known for his famous geographical treatise but also noted for his bravery and humility. He traveled throughout China for more than 30 years and documented his experiences extensively.

The meeting included discussion of the project's current situation as well as plans for its future development.

The project, which is being managed by Xiakexing Tourist Development Co Ltd, will see the development of a route which connects major scenic spots, including Qiutang Mountain Pass, Juexian Tower, and Guanyinxia Scenic Area, and the construction of new facilities, including cableways, iron roads and sightseeing platforms.

"This project will be great for the development of the tourism industry in Lijiang," Mu Deren said, "It also gives us a good chance to dig deep into our history and culture. The leaders of the project should do all they can to ensure its success."

According to Lu Quan, the project manager should create detailed plans and assess the impact of the project on the local environment. They should strengthen contact with villages along the tourist route and get the locals involved.
