Changsha county sees tourism boom during Qingming holiday

Changsha county experienced an influx of 554,800 travelers during the three-day tomb-sweeping holiday, up 18.3 percent from last year's event, according to local media report.

Tourism revenue reached 139.2 million yuan ($22.08 million) from April 5 to 7, up 18 percent, the report said.

Tomb-sweeping Day, or Qingming Festival, is an important occasion for Chinese people to honor their ancestors. Many also spent the three-day holiday on leisure travel.

Changsha county is striving to develop all-for-one tourism, diversifying tourism models and bettering travel experience.

In addition to established tourist scenic spots, various new routes are offered in response to diversifying and expanding travel demands.

Entertainment activities for both adults and children including tea-picking, hot balloon riding and flower appreciation enable them to have a wonderful time in the balmy spring days.

The county's springtime is a time of flowers, when large fields of blossoms make the region a kaleidoscope of color.
