Alshaa's May Day holiday brings 590,600 visitors

During the May Day holiday, Alshaa League welcomed a total of 590,600 domestic tourists, marking a 1.6-fold increase compared to 2023 and a 2.4-fold increase compared to 2019.

The total spending by domestic tourists reached 418 million yuan ($57.92 million) during this time, doubling the figures from 2023 and nearly 2.5 times higher than 2019. The majority of visitors preferred self-driving and self-guided tours, with a significant number of tourists coming from Ningxia, Shaanxi, Beijing, Gansu, Chongqing, and Shanxi.

The 2024 Alshaa Spring Moto Festival ignited excitement at the Alshaa Dream Desert Aerospace Park. Activities such as a music concert, fireworks display, desert stargazing and camping experience, and bonfire party attracted nearly 60,000 visitors.

Over 20,000 off-road enthusiasts and tourists from across the country gathered in the Badain Jaran Desert to experience the speed and excitement of the off-road festival. On May 2, more than 4,000 business elites from 112 institutions competed fiercely in the 13th Asia-Pacific Business School Desert Adventure, which took place in the Tengger Desert.
