Construction of a steel industrial park in Acheng district of Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, is in full swing, with operations set to commence by the end of the year.

The project is currently ahead of schedule by two weeks, with six buildings and 30 main steel trading areas completed. Ongoing work is now focused on steel structural refurbishment.

The park covers an area of 1.66 million square meters and is designed to have a total construction area of 450,000 square meters. It has an investment of 3.5 billion yuan ($479.45 million) and anticipates an annual sales revenue of 40 billion yuan.

Its facilities will encompass a comprehensive commercial service area, a business negotiation zone, a steel trading area, specialized railway and road tracks for steel transport, and standardized workshops.

Once operational, this park will become the province's largest and most advanced steel production and sales complex. It will integrate e-commerce, spot trading, information services, large-scale warehousing, steel plate cutting, large steel structure processing, intelligent steel processing, transportation, as well as business and tax services.

It will serve as a modern comprehensive steel logistics base that links raw material suppliers, manufacturers, intermediaries, and customers.

It is projected to accommodate over 1,000 merchants that will employ more than 10,000 people. The park's annual steel trade volume is expected to reach 8 million metric tons, and its maximum steel storage capacity will surpass 2 million tons.
