Qingdao in Shandong province will build 50 15-minute community life circles across the city this year, aiming to make life easier for local residents, according to news released by the Qingdao municipal planning and natural resources bureau.

The circles will ensure that all residents have access to everything they need for daily life, work, entertainment, education, healthcare, sports and leisure within a 15-minute walk from their homes.

According to official statistics, Qingdao has established 69 15-minute community life circles, involving over 8,100 commercial outlets, with brand chain stores accounting for 35 percent of the community's commercial outlets. These circles serve a total of 900,000 residents and have created approximately 60,000 jobs, achieving a satisfaction rate of over 95 percent among the public. After three years of pilot construction, Qingdao's pilot convenient living circles have significantly improved their level of service convenience, standardization, intelligence, and quality, better meeting the increasingly diverse everyday needs of residents.
