How did Nanjing look like in ancient times? Without modern cameras, ancient people captured the city’s beauty with brushes and ink. Feast your eyes on The Eight Views of Jinling, painting album leaves dating 1600 by Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) artist Guo Cunren. They contain eight scenes meticulously depicting the seasonal splendors of Nanjing that transcend centuries.
