In 2023, the exhibition industry in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, experienced a robust recovery, according to the Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce.

The city hosted a total of 516 large-scale exhibition events in 2023, marking a year-on-year increase of 101.56 percent. The city's exhibition area reached 2.48 million square meters, showing a remarkable growth of 340.83 percent. These figures set new records for the number and scale of exhibitions in the city.

In line with the overall layout of the city's modern industrial system, the Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce nurtured over 60 modern industrial system-related exhibitions last year, focusing on areas such as big data, electronic information, high-end equipment, new materials, and new energy.

To ensure the success of these exhibitions, the bureau significantly enhanced the hosting capacity of large, medium, and small-scale exhibition venues throughout the city.

The construction of the second phase of the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center served as a driving force that led the city to further improve its exhibition venue layout.

Additionally, the city continued its efforts in certifying conference-oriented hotels, with its total number reaching 125.

In addition, Xi'an released the 2023 Exhibition Activity Guide and revised the "Xi'an Exhibition Industry Promotion Regulations". Through policy support and industry guidance, the city aims to cultivate exhibition enterprises and brands with international competitiveness.

The bureau stated that this year, it will continue to enhance the overall strength and influence of its exhibitions.
