Baotou plans to promote new industrialization

Baotou city held a conference to promote the advancement of new industrialization on Feb 6.

During the conference, the city emphasized that as an old industrial base during the First Five-Year Plan period (1953-1957), advancing new industrialization is still a crucial task for Baotou's development.

The Baotou municipal government has set a target to surpass 1 trillion yuan ($138.71 billion) in total industrial output value by 2027. To achieve this, over the next three years, Baotou will vigorously promote the rapid development of emerging industries. This includes onshore wind power equipment, advanced metal materials, carbon fibers and high-polymer new materials, new energy heavy trucks, energy storage, and hydrogen energy.

Baotou aims to vigorously develop advantageous characteristic industries and fully establish several advanced manufacturing clusters for the fine fluorine chemical industry and several digitally advanced industries. Additionally, Baotou plans to develop its modern logistics, operation and maintenance services, inspection and testing certifications, and modern exhibitions industries to promote high-quality development.

Most importantly, Baotou will accelerate the enhancement of its innovation capabilities. It will cultivate and introduce innovative enterprises, promote the digitalization of industrial enterprises, as well as provide continuous momentum for new industrialization.

At the same time, the city hopes to continue to develop and enhance the competitiveness of its industrial parks in order to attract investment that will accelerate development.
