A China-Europe (Xiamen) freight train, loaded with goods such as non-woven fabrics and modern marble products, departed the Haicang Qianchang Railway Station for Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan on Dec 13. This was the 101st China-Europe (Xiamen) freight train operated this year.

As of Dec 13, Haicang Customs had supervised a total of 100 China-Europe (Xiamen) freight train operations involving 11,326 containers with a cargo value of 2.86 billion yuan ($40.16 million).

China-Europe (Xiamen) freight train operations have been stable this year, and there was a notable recovery in transit rail-sea intermodal services compared to last year. The sources of goods for the train have expanded to include countries such as South Korea, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.

The first international train route originating from a free trade zone in China and the first to join the China-Europe Secure and Smart Trade Line Pilot Program, the China-Europe (Xiamen) freight train has transported goods related to market procurement, and cross-border e-commerce to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
