Now in the enchanting embrace of early winter, Yangzhou is preparing to showcase its ephemeral masterpiece – a carpet of gold painted by the majestic ginkgo trees. Battling the recent cold spell, most of Yangzhou's ginkgo trees are now awash with hues of yellow, creating a breathtaking scene.

Start your journey at Temple of Lord Shi, Yangzhou's renowned ancient ginkgo leaf viewing sanctuary. Two stately ancient ginkgo trees grace the temple, standing tall with compact crowns, offering an extended period of leafy splendor.

Then venture to Qionghua Taoist Temple, a short distance from the Temple of Lord Shi, where two ancient ginkgo trees and a majestic large ginkgo tree await. Immerse yourself in the historical ambiance, surrounded by ancient ginkgo trees, tea houses, restaurants and the Yangzhou Art Gallery.

For a picturesque experience, Slender West Lake is a must-visit, as it is home to two ancient ginkgo trees on Xiao Jinshan, an artificial hillock surrounded by water built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to appease the emperors. The golden brilliance of the leaves, set against the backdrop of the lake, creates a mesmerizing sight.

Also, don't miss the Yangzhou Baguai Memorial Hall, featuring a venerable 700-year-old ginkgo tree. Though being full of vicissitudes as you may think, the tree turns a brilliant gold every year on the dot, becoming a spectacle resembling dancing golden butterflies.

Conclude your ginkgo odyssey with a stroll to the nearby thousand-year-old ancient locust trees. Yangzhou's early-winter charm, epitomized by these golden treasures, awaits you. Nature itself is an artist, offering this limited-time exhibition in Yangzhou.
