The Uruguay U20 football team, consisting of 40 members, came to Quzhou on Nov 16 for a three-day football exchange. They trained at the Quzhou Sports Center that night.

During their stay in Quzhou, they will participate in football exchange activities with students from Kecheng Experimental Primary School and Kecheng Baiyun School. They will also play a friendly match with Quzhou No 1 Middle School on Nov 18.

The Uruguay Football Association's China tour executive praised Quzhou's football facilities and said this would help Quzhou become a "city of youth football". He hopes to have more competitions and strengthen football exchanges between China and Uruguay in the future.

Uruguay is a football powerhouse in South America. It won the first and fourth World Cups in 1930 and 1950, respectively. It has also won the Copa America 15 times.

The Uruguay U20 team is the "golden generation" of Uruguay football. Many world-class players, such as Enzo Francescoli, Daniel Fonseca, Alvaro Recoba, and Luis Suarez, all started out on the U20 team.
