Throughout ancient China, export ceramics maintained long-standing acclaim worldwide, serving as a testament to the extensive, profound and dynamic interactions between China and the overseas world.

Peking University has been dedicated to research on Chinese export ceramics since the 1980s, and is now mounting an exhibition at its Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology, which provides a panoramic view of the historical vicissitudes of Chinese ceramic exports from the 8th to the 20th century. From a lateral perspective, it reflects the evolution of Chinese ceramics.
