Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has unveiled a three-year action plan (2023-25) aimed at driving the high-quality development of its express delivery sector recently.

According to the plan, Jinan is aiming to increase the number of delivered parcels at an average annual rate of 13 percent to more than 1.1 billion parcels by 2025. Other goals include having five brand companies achieve an annual delivery volume of over 100 million parcels, adding more than 3,000 new jobs, and doubling the growth of cross-border express deliveries within three years.

Jinan will also increase express delivery service stations in towns and villages by 300 and install over 2,000 sets of delivery lockers by 2025.

To achieve these goals, Jinan plans to carry out seven major projects, including encouraging leading express delivery companies to establish regional headquarters and distribution centers in Jinan, boosting the coordinated development of the express delivery, e-commerce, manufacturing, and rural vitalization sectors, and improving urban and rural delivery networks.
