The founding of Yantai Polaris Horologe Company in 1915 was regarded as the beginning of China's modern mechanical clock industry. Over the decades, Yantai Polaris Horologe Company has received many national honorary titles such as the China Famous Trademark, and China Time-honored Brand.

The Polaris Horologe Culture Museum in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, was built in 2008 and opened to the public in July 2010. At the time of its opening, it was the largest museum of its kind in China.
