Inspur Yunzhou helps digitally transform cable sector

Inspur Yunzhou, a leading industrial internet platform operator in China based in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, has teamed up with Chongqing Taishan Cable Co in Chongqing municipality to overcome the technical difficulties encountered on the path to digitally transform the cable industry, local media reported.
As a subsidiary of China's leading cloud computing and big data service provider Inspur Group, Inspur Yunzhou's industrial internet platform has served as a cross-field platform at the national level. It has been applied in the fields of equipment manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, clothing, and agricultural machinery.
In collaboration with Chognqing Taishan Cable Co, Inspur Yunzhou pioneered the intelligent detection and control equipment for cable harnesses, developed over 400 visual models for cable harness recognition, and achieved a process that takes less than 0.1 seconds for shooting, recognition, and intelligent adjustment. This effectively solves the problems of high artificial wiring costs, low efficiency, financial losses due to low quality wiring, safety hazards in production, and difficulties in quality tracing.
By implementing the project, Taishan Cable can effectively trim costs, optimize the wire harness process, and avoid major losses from tangled wires.
Song Zhigang, vice-president of Inspur Yunzhou, said his company launched the automatic wire harness equipment to empower the traditional wire and cable industry with digital transformation and intelligent production.
The machine vision technology solves the problems of low wire-harnessing efficiency, while cutting cost and improving safety risks, and forms a benchmark for the digital transformation of the wire and cable industry, Song said.
Based on the success of Taishan Cable's intelligent manufacturing plan, Inspur Yunzhou is continuing to explore more application scenarios of intelligent quality control, intelligent cable stripping, and other industrial applications, he added.
In addition, Inspur Yunzhou will continue to use digital technology to assist Taishan Cable in developing cutting-edge solutions for smart cable systems and help it to become a world-class provider of smart cable system solutions.
