The China-South Asia Exposition is an international exposition jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. The exposition establishes a platform for China, South Asian countries, and Southeast Asian countries to enhance their cultural ties.

The expo was held annually in Kunming, Yunnan province, each June from 2013 to 2015. Since 2016, the expo has become biennial, meaning it has now been successfully held five times.

More than 3,800 companies from 87 countries and regions attended the fifth China-South Asia Expo that took place from June 14 to 20, 2018, with over 40 percent of enterprises coming from overseas. It featured 19 exhibition halls with around 8,500 booths, and covered an area of 190,000 square meters.

A total of 456 contracts valued at more than 800 billion yuan (about $123.6 billion) were signed during the week-long expo. It also attracted approximately 800,000 visitors, with its sales volume reaching an estimated 250 million yuan, according to the organizers of the expo.
