A completely reconstructed skeleton model of a Lixian Jiangshan dinosaur is displayed at the museum's entrance.

The fossil of Lixian Jiangshan was discovered in 1977 on a hillside called Jinjiaoyi in Chentangbian village, Lixian township, Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou.

During the excavation, more than 30 bones, including vertebrae, ribs, and leg bones, were unearthed. Based on its 1.78-meter-long fossilized rib bones, experts estimated that it was more than 20 meters long and 4 meters high at the shoulder.

In 1970, two dinosaur egg fossils were found on a red sandstone hillside in Gaotangshi village, Zhangtan town. These are the first two dinosaur egg fossils identified by experts on the surface of western Zhejiang.

In 2004, a dinosaur fossil was discovered on Dajiaolong Mountain in Shicun village, Gaotangshi village. Experts speculated that it was part of the dinosaur's back bones, and the main part may be preserved in sedimentary rocks.

According to incomplete statistics from the city museum, Quzhou has unearthed dinosaurs and dinosaur egg fossils dozens of times, suggesting that Quzhou was a paradise for dinosaurs in the Mesozoic Cretaceous period.
