Jiaxing Library wins intl recognition

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) announced the winners of the 2023 Library Marketing Awards on April 4, and Jiaxing Library's "Happy Audiobook" project was shortlisted.

Founded in 1927, the IFLA is the most authoritative and influential non-governmental professional international organization in the field of libraries. Established in 2002, the International Marketing Awards have been held for 20 consecutive years to recognize organizations such as libraries that implement creative and effective marketing programs or activities.

The "Happy Audiobook" project focuses on the visually impaired, infants, the elderly, illiterates and other information-vulnerable groups who are unable to read books, providing them with high-quality resources suitable for listening and bridging the gap in their educational and spiritual lives.

Jiaxing Library has currently launched three series of audiobooks, including a children's edition, a primary and secondary school edition and an elder edition. The content covers fairy tales, fables, poems, children's songs, massive classic books, cross talk, drama and historical stories.

The audiobooks can be borrowed for free in both urban and rural branches of Jiaxing Library. Since their launch in January 2022, the audiobooks have been lent out more than 7,800 times, has and have been widely recognized by readers.
