Sugar oranges help rural revitalization

Recently, sugar oranges were hanging on the branches in the Golden Autumn Sugar Oranges Planting Base at Paomagang Village of Cili County, and farmers were busy picking, carrying, sorting and loading.

Citrus is a traditional robust industry in Cili County thanks to favorable conditions such as selenium-rich soil, suitable climate and rich varieties.There are now 20,533 hectares of citrus in the whole county.

In recent years, Cili County, relying on local superior resources, has vigorously promoted the planting of sugar oranges since 2019.

At present, the planting scale of sugar oranges is nearly 666.67 hectares, with an output of about 300,000 catties and an output value of more than 1 million yuan.

With the characteristics of bright color and high sweetness, the Golden Autumn Orange has been praised by consumers, which effectively drove farmers to increase their income and helped rural revitalization.
