June 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 53 new cases of confirmed infections (46 imported cases, 9 in Guangdong province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Fujian province, 5 in Yunnan province, 5 in Shaanxi province, 4 in Sichuan province, 3 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Chongqing municipality, including 8 confirmed cases converting from asymptomatic cases, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Hunan province; 7 indigenous cases, 5 in Guangdong province and 2 in Beijing municipality, including 1 confirmed case converting from an asymptomatic case in Guangdong province), no deaths, and no new cases of suspected infections.

On June 24, 90 patients were released from hospital after being cured (19 imported cases; 71 indigenous cases, 35 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 24 in Beijing municipality, 9 in Shanghai municipality and 3 in Zhejiang province). 4,684 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 19,234 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 18,940 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 294 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 225,487 confirmed cases and 5,226 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 219,638 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 623 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 4,241,792 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 107,156 were still under medical observation.

On June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 98 new asymptomatic cases (83 imported cases; 15 indigenous cases, 8 in Liaoning province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Jilin province).

On June 24, 217 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (120 imported cases; 97 indigenous cases, 44 in Shanghai municipality, 22 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 17 in Beijing municipality, 5 in Liaoning province, 3 in Jilin province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Jiangxi province, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province and 1 in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps). 9 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 8 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 24, 1,082 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 509 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 24, 3,869,522 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 336,062 in Hong Kong (9,398 had died and 63,527 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 125 in Macao (83 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 3,533,335 in Taiwan (5,969 had died and 13,742 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
