Economy

Guangdong is one of the frontiers undergoing China's reform and opening-up policy.

It has become one of the most attractive places for investors seeking competitive advantages in the market. It is also one of China's fastest growing provinces with the most developed business and trade environments. During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15), the annual growth of the province's GDP reached 8.5 percent and the GDP grew by 7.5 percent per capita. In 2018, the province's GDP reached 9.73 trillion yuan ($141.69 billion).

Administrative divisions  

Guangdong province governs 21 cities: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Foshan, Shaoguan, Zhanjiang, Zhaoqing, Jiangmen, Maoming, Huizhou, Meizhou, Shanwei, Heyuan, Yangjiang, Qingyuan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Yunfu, and 119 county-level administrative divisions.
