The Maoshan Folksongs of Bashan city, Sichuan province, come in wide varieties and depict the local people's colorful life and customs. They generally employ neat structures and pentatonic scales. They are famed as one of China's four featured love songs, along with Lianhuanshan Love Songs, Bouyei Wave Whistle Songs and Naxi Yulongshan Love Songs.
