Hubei (in central China) People's Procuratorate and Hubei Women's Federation recently released a document, in which the organization's officials offered suggestions on how to improve Hubei's work mechanism for protecting women and children's rights and interests.

The suggestions included: Prosecutorial organs and women's federations, at all levels in Hubei, should establish work mechanisms, through which the organizations work together to better protect women and children's rights and interests, to strengthen the legal protection of minors, to strengthen social governance, and to provide legal services to and share information with women and children, so they can both better protect their rights and interests, and prevent them from committing crimes and offences.

Hubei is not alone in making greater efforts to protect women and children's legal rights and interest. In a document recently released by Shanxi (in north China) People's Procuratorate and Shanxi Women's Federation, the organizations' officials offered suggestions on how to improve Shanxi's work mechanism for protecting women and children's rights and interests.

Officials of the prosecutorial organs and women's federations, at all levels in Shanxi, suggested the organizations should establish a work mechanism, through which the organizations will work together to better protect women and children's rights and interests. To achieve that goal, the officials said they will provide legal aid to women and children, especially those whose rights and/or interests are infringed. The officials said they will also make greater efforts to help women resolve disputes through mediation, and to ensure they have equal rights (with men) in all spheres of society.

The officials also suggested the organizations should adopt more effective measures to crack down on violations of women and children's legal rights and interests.
