WUHAN -- An international digital trade conference closed on Sunday in Central China's Wuhan city, with business deals valued at 356.1 billion yuan ($54.5 billion) signed.

The 2020 Global Digital Trade Conference, the largest economic and trade event in the city since it was hit hard by COVID-19 early this year, drew 5,126 Chinese and foreign enterprises to its online and offline activities.

More than 280,000 visitors from 53 countries, including diplomats, businessmen and Wuhan citizens, attended the 9-day conference.

Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, is a fertile land for digital trade with its advantages of market, production factors, science and education, Lu Yong, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, said at the event.
