At present, Hechi has built a total of 789 service institutions of various types for seniors, with a total of 18,500 beds. The city's system for senior services, which is based on the home, supported by the community, supplemented by institutions, and combined with medical care, is being actively promoted, as well as covers urban and rural areas.

Since 2017, Hechi has implemented projects like the Hechi Seniors Demonstration Center, the Dongjiang Seniors Nursing Home, the Hechi Seniors Apartment, and the Yizhou Social Welfare Home for Seniors, as well as carried out maintenance and renovation of 11 social welfare institutes. To date, the city has also established 127 township-level service centers.

Hechi has implemented a variety of preferential policies to promote the integration of medical care and nursing care. This year, the medical insurance and employee medical insurance participation rate of urban senior residents reached 98.9 percent, with the insured senior patients with chronic diseases enjoying annual subsidies of 2,000 yuan ($298.54) to 6,000 yuan, while 511 medical treatment combinations have been established in the city.

In addition, Hechi has strengthened the functions of public senior care service institutions, as well as encouraged and guided private capital and social forces to establish senior care service organizations.
