Zhoushan ranks 12th nationwide in per capita disposable income

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province ranked 12th in China in terms of per capita disposable income of urban residents, according to a list released by news website Sohu on Nov 3.

Disposable income consists of income from wages and salaries, net operating income, net property income, and net transfer income.

In 2019, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Zhoushan stood at 61,479 yuan ($9,191), while their per capita income from wages and salaries was 40,625 yuan.

Rounding out the top 10 on the list are Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Shaoxing, Shenzhen, and Jiaxing.

Statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, the per capita disposable income of Zhoushan residents was 42,264 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3 percent.

The per capita disposable incomes of rural and urban residents in the city were 27,898 yuan and 49,216 yuan, year-on-year increases of 4.7 percent and 2.6 percent, respectively.

Moreover, per capita consumption expenditures among Zhoushan residents were valued at 24,445 yuan in the first nine months, up 1 percent year-on-year.

The per capita consumption expenditures of rural and urban residents in the city were 17,575 yuan and 27,769 yuan, up 0.9 percent and 1.1 percent year on year, respectively.
