Ningbo, Alibaba upgrade partnership

Ningbo's Haishu district reached a cooperation framework agreement with Alibaba (Ningbo) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of domestic tech giant Alibaba，on Oct 27.

The move strengthened the partnership between Ningbo and Alibaba following a comprehensive cooperation agreement reached between the two in May.

A spokesman from Alibaba (Ningbo) Co Ltd said that they will work closely with Haishu district to promote the digitalization of healthcare, education, culture, tourism, rural development, and more.

Meanwhile, coordinated efforts will be made to apply blockchain technologies in sectors such as administrative services, law enforcement, and finance.

Haishu, a central commercial area in Ningbo, will partner with Alibaba to accelerate the intelligentization of restaurants, shopping malls, residential communities, and more.

Alibaba has built seven smart grocery markets in Ningbo, a move that has been replicated in cities such as Shanghai, Taizhou, Wenzhou, and Zhoushan.
