Luocheng's regional GDP rises in Q1-Q3

Since the beginning of this year, Luocheng Mulao autonomous county, Hechi has implemented various decisions and deployments of higher authorities, achieving positive results in its epidemic prevention and control, poverty alleviation, as well as economic and social development measures.

It is estimated that in the first three quarters of 2020, the county's main economic indicators achieved positive growth, with its regional GDP increasing by 2.9 percent year-on-year and its investment in fixed assets increasing by 0.2 percent. The per capita disposable income of its urban residents was 17,528 yuan ($2,621.43), an increase of 3.3 percent, while that of its rural residents was 6,342 yuan, an increase of 8.4 percent.

The county has invested a total of nearly 35 million yuan to scientifically and effectively promote its novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic prevention and control measures. Six million yuan was invested to build two county-level PCR laboratories for COVID-19 nucleic acid testing. Since the outbreak of the virus, no confirmed or suspected cases were reported in the county.

Luocheng has established a total of 192 demonstration areas (parks, spots) for modern characteristic agriculture at all levels, achieving outstanding results in industrial development. The county has invested nearly 500 million yuan to build two middle schools, two primary schools, as well as 21 public and private kindergartens, further improving its education infrastructure.

The county has also made efforts in project construction focusing on transportation, with more than 8 billion yuan used for the construction of 11 high-grade highways spanning 300 kilometers.

In addition, as of the end of 2019, a total of 82,000 impoverished people have been lifted out of poverty in Luocheng. The poverty incidence rate has dropped from 28.47 percent at the end of 2015 to its current 2.21 percent.

In April this year, the county initiated preparations of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). At present, a draft of the basic ideas has been formed, formulating 197 major projects, with a total investment of about 65.6 billion yuan, involving transportation, energy, water conservancy, industry, ecological and environmental protection, social undertakings, as well as people's livelihood projects.
