Xiamen Airlines flight MF8660 departed from Macao and arrived on Sept 27 at Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport, marking the resumption of passenger flights between Macao and Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province.

The round-trip service is scheduled to operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

After the arrival of the flight, Quanzhou Customs carried out health and quarantine procedures on passengers, including health declarations and inspections and infrared body temperature monitoring.

This effectively guaranteed the security of customs clearance between residents from the Chinese mainland and Macao.

Affected by the novel coronavirus epidemic, Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport earlier in the year suspended 17 routes, including international routes as well as services from and to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

In July, Quanzhou airport started preparations for the resumption of flights.

Quanzhou Customs cooperated with airport border inspections, airport public security, 120 emergency centers, as well as airport companies and airlines to jointly enhance the prevention and control capabilities of the airport.

Moving forwards, the airport will, based on a comprehensive assessment of the resumption of Macao flights and the capacity of the airport customs clearance, move to restore other suspended routes.
