Japanese restaurant owner considers Wuhan second home

"These young men are all sincere and hardworking, bringing me a deeper love for the city," he said.

After the city's lockdown in late January to contain the COVID-19 epidemic, all restaurants were closed, including Shimada's. The closure has seriously affected his business.

Although his relatives and friends in Japan advised him to return to his hometown, he still chose to stay.
