Sept 14: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Yunnan province and 1 in Guangdong province), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 650 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,645 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,500 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 145 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,194 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,415 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 145 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 823,002 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,527 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 39 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 378 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 377 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 13, 5,501 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,957 in Hong Kong (100 had died and 4,630 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 498 in Taiwan (7 had died and 475 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
