Zhuhai is one of this summer vacation's most popular destinations in South China, says China's leading travel service provider Ctrip.

Other than Shanghai and Beijing, most of the tourists are from Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Fujian, Sichuan, and Henan provinces, specifically: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Wuhan, Zhongshan, and Changsha cities, said Yang Hui, senior manager of Ctrip's Public Affairs Department.

Search volume of the keyword "Zhuhai" on the Ctrip app surged 92.46 percent since July after the National Immigration Administration announced Aug 11 that it would gradually resume processing tourist endorsements for individual or group tours from the Chinese mainland to Macao.

Residents of Zhuhai have received tourist endorsements handled since Wednesday. The resumption is expected to expand across Guangdong Province starting Aug 26, and across the country from Sept 23.

Search volume for "Hengqin New Area" increased by 72.43 percent due to the policy and local abundant tourism resources. Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Resort is popular for families.

Despite being hindered by the effects of COVID-19 prevention efforts, Zhuhai's tourism industry has been steadily rebounding since early May. Citywide tourist attractions, including Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town, Lost City Water Park, and Ocean Spring Resort, have introduced myriad promotional activities and discounted tickets to attract more visitors.

It is expected that Zhuhai will experience a travel peak in late summer. Yang advises tourists to arrange their trips reasonably, taking anti-epidemic measures into consideration.
