The three indicators of foreign economic and technological cooperation in Jinan from January to May ranked first among cities in Shandong province, according to statistics reported by the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce.

The value of the city's newly signed foreign contracts amounted to $21.5 billion, accounting for 53.5 percent of the province's total, completing a turnover of $1.62 billion.

China Railway No.10 Engineering Group signed contracts worth $340 million, while PowerChina SEPCO1 Electric Power Construction Co signed contracts totaling $440 million.

Outbound non-financial investment from the city in the first five months amounted to $670 million, up 51.3 percent year-on-year. A total of 30 overseas investment projects were set up during the period.
