Qingshan district confirms 73 key projects for 2020

Qingshan district in Baotou -- in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- has confirmed the go-ahead for 73 key projects worth more than 100 million yuan ($14.07 million) for 2020, according to a May 19 report in the Baotou Daily.

The total planned investment is 40.65 billion yuan and the planned investment for this year is 11.57 billion yuan. Officials said it is expected that construction work on 25 projects will be completed this year.

To date, construction work on 58 projects has started or been resumed, with a resumption rate of 79.5 percent.

A total of 31 projects are related to strategic emerging industries, with a planned investment of 17.73 billion yuan. The projects include a polycrystalline ingot plant developed by Canadian Solar (Baotou) and a 3 gigawatt crystalline silicon plant developed by Baotou-based JA Solar.

This year, the district will implement 23 service industry and real estate projects with a planned total investment of 20.42 billion yuan, focusing on building the urban sub-center of the district.

Officials said that Qingshan district will implement 14 social and infrastructure projects, with a planned total investment of 1.9 billion yuan. It will accelerate the second-phase construction of the outpatient building of Qingshan District Hospital and a comprehensive nursing home for the elderly.

This year, the district will implement a total of five ecological and environmental protection projects with a planned total investment of 600 million yuan, including an environmental improvement project for the southern slope of Daqing Mountain.
